About the CAMELOT project ...

The FCH 2 JU funded CAMELOT project brings together highly experienced research institutes, universities, fuel cell membrane electrode assembly suppliers and transport OEMs to improve understanding of the limitations in fuel cell electrodes. This will enable the partners to provide guidance on the next generation of MEAs required to achieve 2024 performance targets.

As part of the CAMELOT project objectives, a free and open source Fuel Cell Performance Model developed by FAST Simulations UG, FAST-FC, has been utilized, improved and extended to describe the transport and kinetic processes in ultra-thin, low-loaded membrane electrode assemblies.
The workshop will provide attendees an understanding of the general theory behind the model, improvements made within the CAMELOT Project, hands-on application of the model through tutorial studies, and an instructor supported, open application and question and answer session.

Overall Project Objectives

Improve the power density of fuel cells by understanding the limitations on the performance of MEA.

objectif 1
Objective 1: to diagnose the fundamental transport properties that limit performance in SoA and prototype beyond‐SoA MEAs and materials.
objectif 2
Objective 2: Extend a leading open source model to enable the accurate simulation of SoA MEAs using automotive SRU Hardware.
objectifs 3
Objective 3: Produce MEAs with features that have the potential to enable disruptive performance increases and to validate the open source model for beyond‐SoA MEAs.
objectif 4
Objective 4: Propose new beyond‐SoA MEA designs in automotive SRU geometries that address SoA performance limitations and provide simulation tools that guide rational development of new MEA concepts.
